Operation “Catch Them Young”; National Coordinator sensitizes pupils on right attitudes

National Coordinator SERVICOM , Mrs.  Nnenna Akajemeli has played host to school pupils of Astute Montessori School Kuje Abuja, where she encouraged children to develop the right attitude to life and to speak up politely when they are badly treated or denied what is theirs.

The Coordinator who described the visit as timely explained to the pupils that SERVICOM was strategizing to incorporate SERVICOM Principles into School curriculum as part of civic education at all levels, as was recommended in a Communiqué at the end of the recently held National Policy Dialogue on strategies for improving Service Delivery.

She said the “Catch Them Young” move was aimed at inculcating in the younger generation, the culture of punctuality and dedication to duty among other things.

Mrs Akajemeli took time to explain the operations of SERVICOM to the pupils and stressed the need for the public to speak out against service failure in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.

She further said that it was very important for civil servants to be committed to their jobs and imbibe the culture of effective time management for service delivery to thrive in public institutions.

Mr. Ankuhe Usher, the Lead teacher on the visit, expressed delight that an Office like SERVICOM was in existence and described the `catch them young’ programme as a step in the right direction  as this would ensure that the younger generation imbibed the culture of doing the right thing at the right time.
